There are great changes afoot in the Arab world.
We are at a point where one of the great nations of history has a choice to make.
Will they join the "West" and move towards individual rights, political freedom, social change,
and the power of the individual?
or,
Will they allow dogma, traditions, ignorance, and fear guide them.
Will the youth of the day prevail or will the old men and their frightened minions rule the day?
When I was a kid I always dreamed of being a spy "behind the Iron Curtain."
It was the most daring of missions to break into Russia and steal secrets and win the women.
It was crazy to think that before I even would leave college, before my kids would be born, the walls of Communism would fall.
We didn't dare to even hope for it.
And now, we have even more reasons to hope.
Several countries are now pushing out the old, the tired, the suppresive
and want to replace it with.....
With what?
Democracy is a wonderful and dangerous system.
"The People" can make some scary choices
And once elected, the leaders rarely want to give it up.

Few people appreciate how amazing western democracy is when compared to the rest of the world.
We have elections, and people leave office without a fight,
A lawsuit maybe, a recount, and some nasty ads, but that's about it.
The people speak, and the leaders go.
Egypt is at a crossroads
We are at one as well.
It's an exciting time to be alive.
