On Sunday night we stayed up late, ignored the dishes, watched an episode of DH and House! Two one hour shows in one night? Be still my beating heart. After that we zonked out, but Monday morning was full of nothing!I slept in until 7:00 AM (2 hours late for me), laughed at my 5:45am Boot Camp reminder, did a bit of work, returned a few e-mails, did some on-line training, set-up Quicken, ignored my taxes, wrote my will, trust, and durable power of attorney, and YES, even had a little sex, with the lights on and the door unlocked. Whoo Hooo!!!
Any of you with kids can relate to the joy of NOT locking the door, NOT worrying about kids interupting (like Thursday night, right as I flipped her on her back and slid inside), and NOT having to pick up the phone as it rang (twice).
After the sex and the wills and the paperwork, and the many many many pages of printing drafts of aforementioned documents (see, the legalese is still with me), we found time for a quick dinner and time for a movie
We saw "Source Code" which was great. It makes wonderful use (though liberally adapted) of some cool scientific ideas about latent memories and quantum uncertainty while maintaining a cute love story (albeit, in 8 minute slices. We were heading out the of the theater when my wife asked, "Should we just sneak in an see another one?" I looked her up and down and asked what she had done with my wife? We thought about it but realized the next movie didn't start for almost an hour, so we dashed home, grabbed two more free passes, called ahead to our favorite restaraunt for a "to go" desert, and headed back to the movies...The 2nd bill of our double feature was "The Adjustment Bureau" This one was lighter, more romantic, but cool nonetheless and well worth the money we paid for it. OK, since the passes were free it was worth a lot more than that.
Both movies were great date movies though my wife liked "Adjustment" better because the story was a bit more straight forward and didn't expect you to know quantum physics. I recommend both. And, and, and...
I have to give a thumbs up to the female leads in both pictures. Emily Blunt, whom I loved in "The Devil Wears Prada" wasn't give a whole lot to do, but she looked super cute at first, and then killer sexy in the final scene (are you kidding me? That final dress was amazing.) Michelle Monaghan, who I dont know as much about, only had 8 minutes to make an impression and she did a great job as the sincere and hopeful, "girl in the seat across from me" with all the romance just bubbling under the surface.

We have a weekend without kids coming up now, I know exactly what you're talking about. No one has given us free passes though :-) so we might just pick up some take out food (the spicy kind that the kids won't eat) and start watching a movie in the tv-couch at 8 pm, what a luxury..
i also know what you're talking about. love them to death but wow, a little bit of them goes a long long way. nice to be able to have noisy wild sex. :)
Hey Johanna, with a mailing address and a stamp I could have a few passes headed your way.... LOL I hope you enjoy your weekend and maybe you could combine the food and the sex... Hmmm
And TG, tell me more about this 'noisy' part, that sounds good.
Great to hear that you got some much needed one on one time with your wife (both in and out if the bedroom!)
*giggles* well then! you've just given me a good topic for a future post perhaps. :)
i'm just a REALLY vocal person and even more so in the bedroom. not so much words, but sounds and such.
however, when anyone is in the house, i feel the need to be silent and for me i lose a little bit of the passion. i dunno.
Holly - It was good to get the will and trust done, but I'm worried about the special "accidental death" section she put in at the end.
TG - I love the noise!!!! It's just that with a small house and thin walls, she's super paranoid and it carries on even when there is no reason to be worried.
If you have the time, a soundtrack would be fun to listen to...
Damn! I am out of touch. I haven't heard of either of these movies. So lame!
Sounds like you're enjoying your week very much! Good for you.
I doubt those passes would be of much use in my country but I do appreciate the thought so thanks, lol... Sex with husband sadly never tops my list but the chance of being loud does make it much more enticing. Most my life I've been the quiet kind but I'm growing increasingly fond of grunts, whimpers, moans and howls... Wouldn't want to have phone sex without them ;)
Lola - yes, you need to get out more, both movies were a lot of fun.
Johanna - Phone sex without the noise is just being on-hold. I don't need words during sex, but feedback is critical, moan, grown, gasp, and sigh for me, lead me with your voice.
